Chapter 1607 – Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP)
Chapter 1607 is an educational program for active members of the Selected Reserve who generally are:
- Called or ordered to active duty in support of a contingency operation or a national emergency declared by the President or Congress; for at least 90 consecutive days
The Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security determine who’s eligible for Chapter 1607.
Entitlement: Generally provides up to 36 months of education benefits
Delimiting Date: Generally 10 years from separation date if separated after completing service contract and discharge isn’t dishonorable
Chapter 1607 – Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP) Benefits:

Students receiving Chapter 1607 benefits are paid a monthly stipend based on their enrollment status.

Students receiving CH 1607 must verify their enrollment monthly by logging in to: Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) or they can call 1-877-823-2378.
