Scholarships

Application Access

Students will be able to access the online scholarship application for the 2024 – 2025 aid year soon. The application must be completed if you wish to be considered for scholarships at UT Health San Antonio.

In order for the link to appear on your account, you must have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current aid year for which you wish to apply for scholarships. Texas residents that are not eligible to file the FAFSA due to citizenship status may submit the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) found here for the appropriate award year. Once your federal or state data has been processed and loaded into the Student System, which occurs once a week, a link will appear in your Financial Aid tile, located in My Student Center, entitled “UT Health San Antonio Scholarship Application”. International students will need to contact VSFA directly for assistance in obtaining the online scholarship application.

NOTE: Incoming student must wait until they have been matriculated into their program of study. All scholarship committees factor this delay into their selection processes.

Instructions

Once you log into My Student Center select the Financial Aid tile and then the scholarship application link (click here for visual instructions). You will then be directed to an options page so you can select the aid year you wish to apply for scholarships. If you would like to view that information in a easy-to-see html document, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page and a new link will appear “Review Your Application”. You can select that link and a new document will appear that can be printed by you or saved on your computer for your future reference.

Students that find a question does not apply to their situation should enter N/A as each question requires a response in order to submit their application.

You can save your application, and we highly encourage you to do so, as you enter your answers and then may “Review” the details as may times as you like before submission.

Deadlines

For the new award year 2024-2025, which covers fall 2024, spring 2025, and summer 2025:

School of Nursing – Sunday, July 14, 2024
School of Dentistry – Thursday, July 18, 2024
School of Medicine – Applications accepted year-round
Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences – Sunday, July 14, 2024
School of Health Professions – Sunday, June 23, 2024

Please continue to submit your scholarship applications, even after the deadlines posted above, as additional scholarships may become available for awarding throughout the year.

After Submission

The details of your application will be forwarded to the individual Loan and Scholarship Committees at your school upon their request for the information. Selection of candidates will be made by the school’s individual committee and then forwarded to our office for processing. If you receive a scholarship, after you have been fully awarded, we may have to reduce other aid on your account in order to prevent an over-award of federal funds.
