Quick Steps

  1. You can call 210-567-2648 during business hours or if after-hours, leave a voicemail with your name and number and a clinician will return your call within one business day.
  2. You can email with your availability.
  3. You can come by the SCC office during our business hours.


Different ways of making an appointment and our office location.

You can make an in-person or virtual appointment by calling #210-567-2648 or coming to the Student Counseling Center between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The 7:00am and 5:00pm sessions are virtual only.

We are located in the Old Dental School Building at the Main Campus (Long Campus), 7703 Floyd Curl Drive.


What to Expect During the First Appointment.

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to session. All paperwork about our services and our policy on confidentiality need to be completed before session if you have not completed them already.
  • The first visit will last about 40-50 minutes.
  • The session is focused on understanding the nature of your concerns and clarifying goals and expectations.
  • Students are encouraged to participate actively in determining the care they need in order to reach their goals.
  • By the end of the first session, typically an agreement is reached regarding the next steps to take.
  • All SCC sessions are offered at no cost to the student.

What to Expect During a Virtual Appointment.

  • A link to the Medical ZOOM session will be sent to your livemail email.
  • Make sure that you are in a private and quiet place to engage in the session.
  • The visit will last about 30-45 minutes.
  • At the end of the visit, a follow-up session may be scheduled or referral will be given to the student.
  • All SCC sessions are offered at no cost to the student.
