 2026 – 2027 Jobs Database

We are pleased to share an allocation for 2026-2027 has been granted to UT Health San Antonio.  The Jobs Database will open in the next several weeks after our supervisors provide their job position descriptions for the new year.

Students with a 2026-27 FAFSA on file, in good academic standing and who demonstrate financial need (Cost of Attendance budget less your Student Aid Index), can apply for open positions with the supervisors  listed in the job description.  Supervisors will submit an Intent To Hire form to our office, and new hire paperwork will be requested after eligibility has been confirmed.

All new hire paperwork must be submitted in person to the VSFA office on the 4th floor of the library.  A start date will be provided to students after Human Resources clears the student to begin working.

What Types of Jobs are Available?

The Veteran Services and Financial Aid office works through our campus and off campus partners to provide employment opportunities.

Positions can involve tutoring fellow students, working as a technician or research assistant or even working within the community in service positions.  We also offer office assistant and various media positions.

All work-study jobs should provide either a benefit to the student directly (such as a better understanding of future career possibilities) or should benefit your classmates (such as helping to manage testing sites or tutoring fellow students).  All work study jobs must be performed under direct supervision, by an authorized supervisor.

Eligibility Requirements

Federal Work-Study employment is a financial aid program that is available to enrolled UT Health San Antonio students who have financial need. Below are general guidelines and do not reflect all possible scenarios.

  1. Each student must apply for Federal financial aid using the FAFSA  – don’t forget our school code for 2026-27 FAFSA will be 010115
  2. Each student must have financial need as determined using federal guidelines (your cost of attendance budget, less grants\scholarships or other gift aid, equals your financial need)
  3. Each student must apply for a position offered by our individual partners
  4. Students must be enrolled at least half time

Forms

Working at a state institution requires a certain amount of paperwork some of which is completed (or partially completed) by the hiring department. The rest are completed by the employee.  Once you have been identified as a potential employee by a supervisor an email with a link to the required forms will be sent to you. All forms will need to be delivered in-person to the Veteran Services and Financial Aid office (Dolph Briscoe Library 4.064).  After all paperwork has been submitted and approved by the payroll office we will award work study funds to your account.  If you have already accepted financial aid, up to your cost of attendance, we will reduce your least favorable aid to accommodate the work study offer.
