Gold’s Gym San Antonio Medical Center is located by the recreational sports complex on the west side of Central Campus. Generally, most students are automatic members through their Fitness Center fee. Contact the Office of Student Life if you have any questions.
Why is the fee required?
In October 2007, the students voted on, and passed a referendum to pay a fitness center fee each semester, and it was approved by UT System. We make sure it is accurately reflected in the tuition and fees section of the website so student are made aware when they apply and make the decision to attend. This fee is comparable to typical undergraduate institution and other health science centers.
Will we have access to other Gold’s locations?
Gold’s Gym is granting UTHSCSA members Black membership status. This will give you access to all San Antonio area Gold’s. This also includes all Gold’s corporate owned locations world-wide. You can also receive 15 visitor passes a year if you travel to a franchise location.
What if we already have a Gold’s membership?
If you already have a Gold’s membership stop by our location and they can freeze that membership until you graduate.
Can the fee be waived?
The fee is waived very rarely and only for extreme circumstances.
Can we use Gold’s in the summer?
This depends on what program you are in. Some students pay for the full year while others only pay the semester they are attending. Gold’s is very flexible when working with our students so please stop by or call (210) 615-3838.
