Holds

Holds

Holds are placed on student records to ensure completion of mandatory activities and documents. Holds are used to prohibit registration, release of official transcripts, and/or release of your official diploma.

Students are responsible for assuring that there are no blocks before registration. All registration holds must be cleared before registering each term through the university portal student self-service. Some holds may not be able to be cleared immediately, so check your hold status regularly.

You may check holds by doing the following steps:

  • Step 1: Login to the University Portal using your UTHSCSA domain User ID and Password.
  • Step 2: Go to: Student Administration > Self Service > Student Center
  • Step 3: Holds are displayed in the box at the upper right corner of the Student Center screen. Contact the department listed in the Holds box.
