Transcript Requests

Transcript requests are processed within 2 business days. Before requesting an electronic transcript, the requestor should verify that the recipient will accept an electronic PDF transcript.

**Students or alumni who have outstanding obligations to the University may be unable to receive official transcripts until those obligations are resolved. **

Official Transcripts

Current students and former students should submit official transcript requests through the National Student Clearinghouse.

  1. Visit the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Online Services to place your transcript order.
  2. Enter your personal information to verify your identity.
  3. Select your preferred method of transcript delivery and pay the transcript fee- $10 per transcript and a $2.90 processing fee per request. Electronic transcripts incur an additional $1.75 fee. Credit cards are charged after the transcript is sent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I order an unofficial transcript?

Currently enrolled students can access and download an unofficial transcript by logging into My Student Center.

Unofficial transcripts are not available to former students.  Former students must request an official transcript.

How can I order an official transcript?

Official transcripts can be ordered through the National Student Clearinghouse.

When placing your order, enter the school as University of Texas San Antonio – HSC and carefully review all instructions and notification before submitting your request.

Can I change the destination after I submit my order?

No. Once an order is submitted, the destination cannot be changed.  A new order must be placed if updates are needed.

Please verify all recipient information before completing your order.

Can I request my transcript to be held until my degree is posted?

Yes.  Currently enrolled students may select the “Hold for Degree” option when placing their order.

Once the degree is officially posted, the Office of the University Registrar will process and release the transcript.

What if I enter the wrong email address for the recipient?

If an incorrect email address is provided, you must submit a new order.

Once an electronic transcript has been issued, it cannot be canceled or redirected.  Please confirm recipient details carefully before submitting your request.

How do I track my transcript order?

The National Student Clearinghouse will send email updates as your order status changes.

You may also track your order online using your email address and order number.

How do I download my electronic transcript?

To access your transcript, you must use a desktop or laptop computer.  Certified PDF transcripts cannot be viewed on most mobile or tablet devices.

You will need to open the file using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Steps to download your transcript:

  1. Open the email from the National Student Clearinghouse with the subject line “Transcript Link”
  2. Click the link to access the Download Center
  3. Select “Next Step”.
  4. Review and acknowledge that the download link is valid for 30 calendar days.
  5. Select “Download My Transcript” to open or save your file.

Transcripts do not require a password to open.

Where can I find the transcript key (legend)?

The transcript key is included as an attachment with the PDF file.

To view it in Adobe Acrobat Reader:

  1. Select View
  2. Select Show/Hide
  3. Select Navigation Panes
  4. Select Attachments

What if the recipient does not receive or download the transcript?

If the transcript was sent electronically and the recipient cannot locate the email, ask them to check their Spam or Junk folder.

The recipient should have received an email with instructions on how to download the transcript.

NOTE: The download link expires 30 calendar days after it is sent.
