ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Orientation Leaders work with incoming students during the first three weeks of the semester to ease with academic and social transitions to The UT Health Science Center.
Leaders will be expected to attend a one day training session, participate in orientation activities, lead a group of students in a social activity during orientation, and follow up with students within the first three weeks of the semester. The time commitment for orientation leaders is about 6 weeks: one week prior to orientation, the week of orientation, and four weeks after the start of class.
To be considered for a position on the Orientation Leader Team, applicants must be:
Duties and responsibilities:
- Attend training for student orientation leaders
- Serve as a role model for incoming students and peers
- Lead small group discussions with new students
- Assist in the set-up and break-down of orientation events
- Assist with orientation registration and check-in
- Coordinate two orientation social activities for a group of students
- Other duties as assigned
In order to be considered for a position on the Orientation Leader Team you will need:
