General Information and Guidelines for Student Organization Fundraising
We do not house student organization bank accounts on campus. Your organization is free to select a bank of your choosing to open a business account with.
- Student organizations may only conduct ONE fundraiser PER month (24-hour period).
- That means the transaction of funds from the customer to the organization must occur in one 24-hour period.
- Example: If you are planning a fundraiser in which you are collecting money using cash and Venmo, all cash must be collected the same day that you click the “Transfer to bank” button in Venmo. If you use Venmo (or another app) you must designate one day in that month that you will click the “Transfer to Bank” button.
- That means the transaction of funds from the customer to the organization must occur in one 24-hour period.
- The purpose for which the funds will be raised must be consistent with the purpose of the recognized student organization. The fundraising activity must not violate legal, tax, or corporate restraints upon the University.
- Use of UT Health San Antonio’s tax ID number, logo, or name is prohibited.
- A student organization may sell non-consignment merchandise, food, or non-alcoholic beverages on campus; as long as it does not conflict with University-contracted vendors.
- Student organizations may not conduct fundraising on behalf of or for the benefit of a non-University recognized organization or corporation. In the case of specific drives for disaster relief, the Chief Student Affairs Officer of the institution may approve a drive that complies with all other requirements.
- Fundraisers may not be conducted for private gain of individuals.
- All student organization fundraising materials/solicitations must clearly indicate that your solicitation is from the student organization, not from UT Health San Antonio.
